Project Summary

This is a randomised, feasibility trial comparing nurse-led follow-up with standard, hospital-based, medical follow-up. This study is supported by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This study aims to determine the feasibility and acceptability of a new nurse-led approach. The new nurse-led approach intervention is known as Optimal Personalised Care After Treatment for Gynaecological cancer (OPCAT-G) and comprises patient education, patient empowerment and protocol-based, structured needs assessment undertaken by specialist nurses by telephone. Feasibility will be determined by the ability to recruit patients to a randomised study, by the ability to collect regular data relating to quality of life (QoL), health economics, wellbeing, relapse and survival.
